South-Asia China Trade Fair 2010 aims to strengthen ties

    The participation of South Asian Countries and China in one platform in Nepal is expected to strengthen the bilateral and multilateral relations among the countries.
    The four-day South-Asia China Trade Fair 2010 kicked off in the capital Kathmandu on Wednesday focusing on the mutual relations and business cooperation among the South Asian nations along with China.
    Along with Nepal, China, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh are also demonstrating different products of their nations.
    The products on display are mainly machinery items, electronic items, automobile, construction items and handicrafts among others.
    Talking to Xinhua on Thursday, the event manager Mahesh Khadgi said that this year they are expecting some 60,000 visitors.
    There are 120 stalls including 30 Chinese stalls in display from altogether 100 different companies are participating in the trade fair, which is organized by Nepal-China Executive Council and attended by business-people from seven countries.
    He said that "we have seen a lot of increase in the stalls compared to the previous year and with the huge Chinese participation."
    He also said that the demonstrated Chinese goods are brought here as the demand of Nepali people and they are mainly targeting the corporate houses in Nepal.
    Rabi Chandra Pradhanaga, Communication Engineer of a Chinese branded company Zhong Xing who get into terminal business here in Nepal, told Xinhua that this kind of event definitely promotes the brand.
    Also the Chinese branded company is displaying various kinds of mobile phones at the exhibition.
    Subodh Manandhar, exhibition director from Nepal China Executives Council said that this kind of event boosts up the economic relations between the countries.
    He said this kind of event promotes the business and also attracts the business men and the consumers.
    Kishor K Sharma, a freelance photographer, told Xinhua that he is really happy to find goods of various countries at one place.
    "I found handicraft to automobile and various other products and essential goods, which is the only attraction of the whole trade fair," he said.
    A Pakistani exhibitor said that people are very much happy to buy Pakistani items and goods here in Nepal.
    The exhibition which will end on Saturday has brought different business community in one platform which will definitely increase the inter-country business and economic relations.
