China has conducted 30 international commercial satellite launches, launched 36 commercial satellites and provided six carrier services since 1990, when the satellite"Asia-1" was first sent into orbit by the Long March 3 carrier rocket.
A seminar was held in Xichang, Sichuan province commemorating the 20th anniversary of the international commercial satellite launch.
Since 2007, China has signed five contracts on exports of independently China-made satellites and completed two in-orbit deliveries.
The Long March series rockets can deliver 9.5 tons to low Earth orbit and 5.5 tons to geostationary transfer orbit or sun-synchronous orbit. It took 28 years for a Long March rocket to finish 50 launches for the first time and only nine years to finish 50 launches for the second time. And it took less than three years to finish 23 launches recently.
Promoted by the Chinese economic development and market demand, the improvement in the launch times, production capacity and reliability of the Long March series rockets all are ranked among the top in the world and have become one of the world's most famous and competitive brands on the market.
The Long March rockets have realized quantity production and assembly. By now, the Long March rockets have conducted 123 flights and the success rate is advanced by worldwide standards.
